CHECK-IN:- 15 night stay. I arrived at 2.45pm. Reception Staff were pleasant. MY ROOM:- 6th floor. Standard twin bedded room. Two larger size single beds. The bed I used was very comfortable, had good pillows, and the bed linen was very clean and white. I slept very well. No bedside tables which was inconvenient. There was a new small mini safe, but it was not attached to a wall or the built in furniture so not very secure at all. Carpet was reasonably clean but a bit stained. The mini fridge worked well. There was bottled water, a kettle, cups, plastic stirrers (no metal spoons but that was no problem as I’d bought my own cutlery). I quite liked the sachets of 3 in 1 coffee mix, it had a very nice flavour. The Coffee sachets and bottled water were replenished constantly. The bathroom was large, clean and tidy. Toiletries were good and they were replenished as needed. 2 clean white bath towels which were replaced regularly. Hairdryer attached to the wall and it worked well. The overhead large circular shower head worked well and the water was steaming hot. Hottest water I encountered during my stays in 6 different Singapore hotels this trip!! Loved it. WIFI:- easy to connect to and I was told how to do that when I arrived. Internet access was excellent in my room. AIR-CONDITIONING:- After being in my room for nearly 45 minutes after arrival I still felt very hot and wasn’t sure why it wasn’t working. I went down to Reception and a very nice young man explained that I had to open the control panel on the wall in my room and press the button until I saw a red light. I had to do this each time I came back to my room. It kept the room very cool and comfortable. HOUSEKEEPING OF THE ROOM:- on arrival I was advised it won’t be done every day. I knew that and that’s ok with me as I keep my room tidy and don’t need daily service of the room. My room was tidied every 2 days. I was happy with the housekeeping during my stay and all the housekeeping staff I saw in the corridors were friendly and always said hello. OVERALL:- I felt safe here and found the hotel and my room fairly clean and tidy and after getting settled I was quite comfortable. The hotel and my room was quiet apart from slight road noise sometimes. It’s obviously older and some fixtures and fittings are in need of minor repair or updating. Staff were pleasant and helpful. I enjoyed my stay at New Cape Inn.

The hotel is totally different from the review and photos. Rooms are very old and smelly, and most things in the room aren’t in good condition. Broken hair dryer, broken entrance light, broken bathroom door handle, broken shower hanger, broken electric kettle, dirty pillow case, very dirty and damaged carpet, moldy curtain, and also a very dirty and disgusting bathroom. And the most unacceptable thing is that there are so many ants in the room that we can’t even place any bread on the table because ants will come to eat it. I don’t even know how this hotel got "SG Clean Certified." And the woman at reception has to learn how to welcome your guest. My family and I decided to leave after only one night, but we had paid for all four nights. The reception told us they could refund us for one night. After we arrived home, we contacted agoda, but the hotel refused to refund us because we reported it too late. At least, we hope you use the money you get from us for free to buy a new electric kettle or a shower hanger.

I booked this as it showed up as one of the Emirates Skywards Miles' hotels. I must admit, having stayed there, I'm surprised that it is ... The bed was quite comfortable and the shower was good - the 2 reasons I gave it 3/5. The place is definitely in need of an upgrade - heavily stained carpets, etc. I didn't bother using the safe, given that I could have picked the whole thing up and walked out with it. The room was cleaned every 3 days, which isn't an issue as far as I'm concerned, but it would have been good to have had the bottled water replaced every day. There's a kettle and 3-in-1 packet coffee sachets supplied, which is possibly okay - unless you drink black coffee! If there's a bar there, it was very cleverly disguised. It IS close to the MRT which was very handy, and there's at least one good restaurant nearby.

This hotel has a good location as its close to Tiong Bahru local market, restaurants, 7/11 store, and MRT ( Outtran park/ Tiong Bahru stations) Room services are every two days, not every day as we expected.

Such a disappointing end to a great holiday. This accommodation was just the pits, staff were extremely unhelpful, especially upon departure and trying to get a shuttle to the airport, they had no clue, nor did they wish to help. We actually had to rely on a different hotel's doorman to help us get there! Upon arrival we were told our family room that sleeps 4 had a big leak and we could no longer stay together. They put us in 2 separate rooms opposite ends of the floor. We wanted to be together but apparently they had only one room in the entire building that slept 4 people. The 2nd night we ended up using one room where 4 of us slept on 2 single beds as one room was extremely creepy. It was incredibly run down, cracks in the walls, dark and dingy halls, cleanliness below par too. And to top it off my 5yr old got head lice! Not a nice lasting impression. If looking for accommodation in Singapore, best avoid this place at all costs.
